• Further investments of up to 4 million euros flow into the overall project

VIEROL AG has signed a purchase agreement for the officers’ mess and the associated grounds. “We are delighted about the acquisition of the historic, listed Officers’ Casino – also known as the Klingenberg Villa,” said Mirja Viertelhaus-Koschig, CEO of VIEROL AG.

Tradition meets innovation

The historic building complex dating back to 1913, including the training hall building, is located on a 68,000 square metre wooded area directly on the Zwischenahner Meer. Bad Zwischenahn, the largest municipality in the district of Ammerland, is known as a state-recognised health resort and is characterised by tourism. The family-run car parts specialist VIEROL has been closely rooted in Oldenburg and the Ammerland region since 1977. “The acquisition underlines our commitment to the region and we look forward to implementing this development project at the Zwischenahner Meer,” explains Ulf Koschig, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of VIEROL AG.

Development and use

“The possible uses will be diverse,” says CEO Mirja Viertelhaus-Koschig. VIEROL AG will use the area for its own junior staff and management development, as a campus for innovation workshops around new business fields, sustainable mobility products and services, but also music and cultural events are planned. In addition, the extensive grounds in the countryside are an ideal retreat and, combined with the offer of a guest house, are to be made usable as a training and conference centre. The gardens on the property are to be reconstructed according to historical models and the building is to be extensively repaired. The design and reconstruction will be coordinated with the community and in the interest of all parties involved. Over the next three years, VIEROL AG will invest approximately 3 – 4 million euros for the sustainable development as well as design and renovation of the buildings and grounds. “As a result, we want to create a win-win situation for the region and for VIEROL,” says Mirja Viertelhaus-Koschig.
