Ground-breaking ceremony for the new logistics centre in Rastede
20 May 2020Together with the building contractor Walter Hellmich and Rastedes mayor Lars Krause, the board of directors has now made the official ground-breaking ceremony. Due to the Corona pandemic, the number of participants was kept small.
Two halls are being built on the almost 20,000 square metre site: one will be 20.5 metres high and the other 13.2 metres – with a total hall area of approx. 9,865m². The aim of the investment is to automate the logistics with the most modern floor conveyor technology. The existing logistics warehouse and the VIEROL Academy in the industrial park – only 600 metres away – will remain in place and be expanded into a service centre for product development and packaging.
According to plan, the new logistics centre is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2021. We are curious how the construction phase will develop in the next months and are looking forward to the new Plant ll in close proximity to the motorway junction Oldenburg – Nord.
