It is an important day for the location Oldenburg, commented McAllister about the million euro investment of the Vierol AG and their commitment to the location Lower Saxony. Middle-sized and family-run companies are really good for the state: they think outside the box. The Vierol AG, an internationally represented automotive supplier, delivers to over 127 countries all over the world. The old headquarter at the Peterstrasse has become too small for the in 1977 founded company, so they build a new one at the Karlstrasse. Jürgen R. Viertelhaus sees the laying of the foundation stone as a very important moment for the expansion of his company. The economic success over the last 33 years made the six million euro investment possible. Mayor Gerd Schwandner is happy that the location behind the train station is developing to the business center of Oldenburg. That is the most modern part of the city, where you can see how big Oldenburg really is. The only thing missing is a proper name for the area. At the ceremony were about 190 guests of politics, economics, science and culture. For example Björn Thümler (Boss of the CDU – Landtagsfraktion), Horst Günter Lucke (member of the Vierol board of directors), Police president Hans-Jürgen Thurau, Eske Nannen (managing director of the artcenter Emden) and Martin Kind (President of the soccer club Hannover 96). The presence of the prime Minister was used by about 30 jobless people to demonstrate for more money. Source: nwzonline.de, 28.10.2010 |
